Principal's Message
Dear Friends in Christ Jesus,
Welcome to the Zion Lutheran School, Marengo, Illinois website. We hope that you find it to be informative and that it will give you some insight into what our school is all about – that is, offering students the best possible Christian education that we can offer.
Zion Lutheran School has been in operation for over 100 years as an educational outreach of Zion Lutheran Church in Marengo, Illinois. The Zion congregation, currently celebrating its 125th anniversary, continues to strongly support the school, providing an abundance of financial and spiritual resources for the school. The teachers of Zion Lutheran are all professing and active Christians, the great majority having studied and prepared for their teaching ministries at one of the Lutheran Church- Missouri Synod's excellent teachers' colleges. Each of them continues in educational training, by taking a variety of graduate classes and workshops throughout the year. Zion students have a reputation for excellent academic and spiritual readiness when they leave our school. They receive instruction in both the Christian faith and in all the expected academic areas during their time at Zion. The school holds both Illinois Non-Public School Recognition and National Lutheran School Accreditation.

You might start by reading the Gospel of John in the New Testament, especially the beautiful words of John, chapter 3, verse 16.
